There are certain words (a word) a black man can use and a white man
can't. In a way, there are still certain places a white man can go, and a
black man can't. It's old and outdated and doesn't apply in 95% of the
cases, but a story of 10 inner city kids, mostly black, in Appalachia is
more interesting than 10 inner city kids, mostly black, in blighted urban
centers.

Look at the death sentence statistics in Texas according to crime and
race.

I think BD's project is extremely interesting for the reasons he
described. Some get it, some don't.
