It's sure an amazing visual capturing method and one that will eventually replace film. But at this point, "Damn the digi's, full speed a head!" However, it's not for me as a work tool. Yep I've had one of the whiz bang super machines in hand, popped frames and watched them transmit in an instant from the middle of a sports field to half way around the world in the blink of an eye. And at the moment even though the digi's are gaining like an Indy car on the back stretch and will undoubtedly win the race around the next curve, at the moment all one has to do is read the posts of all the, "this is wrong, this isn't, it'll never work, why can't they do, it's a monster in yer hands" and a million other reasons why not to bother getting into it. Young lads and lasses just starting in a professional career "must have them if they wish to survive" it's just the way it is. But like you, as long as I continue to have people ask me to shoot assignments for them without a digi cam of any make , or have film to use, I expect for at least another twenty five years, that's fine by me. ;-) Besides, by then I'll need to slow down in any event! ;-) And it's really hard for an old dog to learn new tricks so I'm going to remain...... a film kinda guy. :-) Hell if the rest of them rush off to digi's and leave, at least Ted & ted will have each other and our film to have fun, even if were shooting things off the TV screen. ;-) ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
