Switching between film and digital useage is not a trivial matter as say, changing Hasselblad film backs: The CCD and the electrical contacts are totally exposed when you remove the back, and keeping things dust-free is far more important here than it is with film: Dust on film may affect one frame, but dust on a CCD affects every shot you take. These hybrid cameras worked okay, but were always a kluge, and it was apparent every time you had to pull the digital back off in order to change camera batteries, and every time you listened to the whirr of a film transport spinning it's wheels. If you want digital photos and you want to use your Leica R glass, buy a digital Canon and a lens adapter.
