You're right! ,, I feel like an alien on a strange planet amongst all those motor driven auto-focus digi / film cams in a Games photo position with a hundred or more photographers. And that's at every venue site, not just athletics or swimming. At onetime from the mid-seventies to the end of the '80's the number of Leica toting photogs at the Olympics were still a visible minority, if one looked. Today there might be a couple within a thousand accredited photogs. Or none! I feel so lonely at times! ;-) The reigning colour, Canon #1, Nikon #2 and Leica? Doesn't exist unless I'm the one carrying them! Will the new digi-Leica make a difference? Maybe a little, but not likely as young shooters have grown accustomed to auto-focus and digital image capturing. And of recent years, editors want the image transmitted from pool side as the winner has been declared! And although I'm still using R8's and M7's for all my photography, I'll have a look at using a Leica digi back when they become available and certainly not waste my time reading the hundreds of questions here in the past 24 hours. It's like "big deal!" When it can be ordered and used within 24 hours, that's when it's worth looking at and not 24 months before we see it! ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
