What impressed me was Leica's commitment to their current users - keeping things compatible with all the R-lenses and bodies out there. And a sense that the final product next year will have a longer shelf life than many others. Of course, there's always a group of users that need the newest technology and will not mind getting something new every season. I think there will be a certain number of users that rather like the idea of being able to use film for some shots and digital for others, with one system, especially those with a load of old Leica glass on hand! I'd agree with other posters and recommend watching the show (will even hear why the new Kodak 14MP model disappoints) Phil - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jim McIntyre" <mcintyre@ca.inter.net> To: <leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us> Sent: Wednesday, June 25, 2003 7:40 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] R8/R9 Digital Back announced > Unfortunately, I think Leica got it backwards.
