Indeed Jeffery. I've "debated" different points with Bob on a few of Mr. Gandy's lists based on those brief encounters, he seemed like a gentleman to me. I've shot my share of fine art nudes, glamour, cheesecake and even outright smut content in the last 18 years that I've made photographs for money. I'd hate to be judged innocent or guilty as a human being merely for the images that I've made for willing consensual adults. I'm no more 'into' many of the scenes that I've shot than shooting flowers makes me a gardener or shooting protests makes me an anarchist. Income is income folks. "Consensual adults" are the operative words.

I think that Mr. Shell is not being given the benefit of the doubt by many of the LUGgers who have posted on the topic. People (seemingly American people especially) often tend to believe that an arrest or indictment for some crime equates to guilt unless they've ever been falsely accused of something themselves. Sadly, Presumed Innocent is a myth in our legal system in any sense but the technical and procedural. Regardless the eventual finding of Mr. Shell's guilt or innocence, his reputation has taken a huge blow by the rampant speculation in the photographic community. That is a shame.
