Or find the nude beach on the lake. Perhaps take a stroll downtown and sample the music coming from the taverns. You will love the hill country after living in the N'Oleans swamp for so long. Actually I'm envious as I will be in Birmingham which is currently under water from the deluge the SE has been having. You really can't have a bad time in the hill country. Do try the various micro-brews downtown. Slightly to the SW is a very large German community that values their brews so look into the small bars.
