My R4SP has had the motor winder attached 98% of the time with just this one failure a couple of weeks ago. By the way just got the call from Leica USA it will be shipped today and will be on my door step tomorrow morning (seems like a good reason to take a day off and go shooting...). I suspect it will be good for r another 15 years, but I sure would like to get a new R8 or R9... Any professional who's a true experienced professional rarely if ever goes any where without extra camera bodies including digital or any kind of film camera. And they take extra hardware because shit happens in the field no matter who the shooter is and the type of equipment he or she uses. It's this kind of poppy cock nonsense about Leica SLR's that comes from people who've not likely ever done any picture taking than family happy snaps in their best Sunday go to church clothes. And certainly never with their ass down with weapons firing overhead and or sand and or rain and or riding horse back on cattle round-up or shooting the winter Olympics... now that's a sweet heart of a weather challenge for any camera. Or the hundreds of other conditions I've used Leica SLR's and not have them fail me once. OK once, a G..D... R4 I had to threaten Leica with national TV news coverage embarrassment if they didn't replace it after it crapped out several times. But other than that, they've all worked flawlessly. Including three motor driven R8's over the past half dozen years. And when I go on assignments I usually have 3 M7's with Tom Abrahamsson RapidWinder's and 3 motor driven R8's.. not because I fear they'll quit, but because sometimes I use 6 cameras at the same time depending on the assignment I'm shooting. Then there are others where it's one M7, one lens. Or one R8, one lens and that's it. So the next time some jerk head starts giving you the Leica SLR crap just tell them to stick it in their ear!!!!!!! ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
