In a conference room deep inside ICP about 24-36 (I can only count in exposure per roll) Leica lovers swoon over MPs R9, M7, and related lens. Sal tossed in his much used M2 Leicavit to show how the black paint will look after 20+ years of use! The PLUG was represented by Sal DiMarco and Paul Winkfield. Rich Pinto gave a history of film leading up to his wonderful B/W prints made digitally, and Maynard Switzer showed his works that was also reported in the Fall 02 issue of Leicaview. My interesting moment was meeting a LUGer who had a street foto of a couple, taken just before the guy hit him for taking the pic! (names withheld, he can tell us the details here!) I think for next year, the Committee should allow the LUGer to show 2-3 slides and a print table of their work, while many show their work online, many do not. (I'm guilty of that!) I had an awesome day, New York was and always colorful! got some nice street shots, think I saw a TV star but still can't place name. In Philly, May 2 is our First Friday gallery hop! several PLUGers and LUGers will bravely show their stuff. If in Philly around then, look us up..more details later! If the Leica marketing boys are reading this...why not make a whisky shot glass! blazed with the various M's around its center and a red dot on the bottom? or without the dot; make it double as a lupe and you got a winner! Do I need mention the glass should be Aspherica?! ;-) <paul> nobody paid me to say dis... sure wish they did! - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
