	I suspect Permatex Indian Head gasket shellac compound is what
you want. It should be available cheaply at most "real" auto
parts stores. I'm not sure about the discount chains. I suspect
it's used because it isn't finicky to apply, is a reasonably
decent adhesive, at least if there isn't a lot of flex, and it's
relatively easy to get off. Alcohol is a solvent for shellac. It
is also a good degreaser. So if you decide you don't like the new
covering, don't douse your Leica liberally with alcohol to remove
it; use a careful, controlled application.
