Get a spare fuse. Cost cents, not dollars, and they always blow when shops are closed, otherwise easily available. 2. Get a spare bulb. They are not that easy to get. The ones in the Leica box are made by Philips and (at least over here) cost three times more than the same one in the Philips box. Other manufacturers make the same lamp and charge the same as Philips, more or less. Some people will tell you that you can only use the lamp in the Leica box. This is not true. It is like radio valves or plain light bulbs or batteries for the M7 and M7. Different manufacturers call them different things, but they are made to the same specifications. A good lamp wholesaler will have a list showing what lamps from other manufacturers correspond to Philips 13139. 3. Get a current model lamp holder _now_ if you have an old one. Older V35s need a new adapter for the lamp if you want to use current lamps. The older type lamps are no longer manufactured. Get a current lamp holder early to avoid lengthy waits. Search archives to find information to help you determine if you have the new or the old version lamp holder. If your V35 does not have a Philips 13139 bulB or equivalent, then you probably have the old lamp holder. :-( Chris - -- Christer Almqvist D 20255 Hamburg and / or F 50590 Regnéville sur Mer please look at my NEW b+w pictures at: http://www.almqvist.net/chris/dozen/ old pictures still at: http://www.almqvist.net/chris/new - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
