Neil,
yes it does - it comes with a sensor - a bit like a mouse.  You project the
image onto the baseboard and place the sensor on the area you want to
measure.  In fact you have to take a minimum of two readings - firstly a
highlight reading, followed by a shadow reading.  The Zonemaster will then
calculate the exposure and give an indication of the contrast range for you.
