Jim,
I bought the RT for three reasons.
1)Macro as you guessed. I had gotten tired of composing, locking up the
mirror, shooting, start over.

2)Using electronic flash I can see what is going on, from improper set up,
one flash didn't go off, the subject blinked.

3)I cut my first serious photographic teeth on an MP and always liked seeing
the subject at the moment of exposure. I thought that the RT would be a
good compromise, higher noise level, long lenses, macro. Those of us who
use M's extensively sometimes forget how important seeing outside the frame
is, as well as how unintrusive M's really are.

Thanks for asking.
