I regularly scan MF using an Epson 2450 flatbed. The results, especially 
with B&W negatives (which is mostly what I shoot) are very good. There 
is a new Epson 3200 flatbed coming out which is supposed to be even better.

Vuescan is even more of a must with these Epson scanners than with my 
Nikon LS-2000. The Epson software is totally useless.
