It was easy to be unhurried and carefree when the African imports were
doing the heavy lifting. Somehow I doubt that the poor whites lead
"unhurried and carefree" lives - unless they were leading unhurried
lives of quiet desperation. ;-)

As a long time resident of a southern city that's seen an 
avalanche-like influx of Northerners, my favorite bumper sticker is 
"I don't care HOW you did it up North."
