I scan and then look at them in Vueprint - this is written by the author
of Vuescan - I use Vueprint because I can quickly skip between frames
using the space and backspace key, plus it's very fast to load. I make a
note of the interesting frames and then adjust those in Photoshop.

I'm a bit curious how others examine their negatives to determine 
which ones to print.  Do you scan them and make a digital contact 
sheet?   Or scan and examine in Photoshop?
