Eric,
I can't say if the emulsions are identical but if both are a 4 layer film
then there is no substantial difference. My reluctance to commit is I have
seen some 400 press that is not 4 layer construction.

Fuji has made some very attractive deals on 20 roll propacks, about $50 for
the press 400 so if B&H is breaking up the packs they can sell rolls at $3
and make a very nice profit. My guess is that Fuji is keeping the cash flow
coming to pay for their expenses upgrading their plant in South Carolina.

I have shot a fair amount of the press 400 and find it very similar to the
800 which is very nice indeed. If you feel more comfortable shooting 400
instead of 800 then by all means use the press. It is a very nice general
purpose color negative film.
