When I bought my M3 with 35mm 'cron (with eyes) in 1971, The hood that was
with the 35mm 'cron is engraved with the number 12585H, together with the
engravings of all the lenses it could be used with (at that time) 1:2/50,
1:28/50 1:3.5/50, 1:2/35, 1:2.8/35, 1.3.5/35.

The 12504 is definitely correct for the 2nd version 35 'cron which would
have been the one available new in 1973. As I'm sure you know, this is
the hood with the "split" design so you can use series 7 filters inside it.

As I mentioned in a previous post, there is some subtle difference
because the 12504 doesn't lock in well on the first version 'cron the
way it does on the second version.
