Absolutely - A framing exercise:

Grab a model - any size or shape will do.

Plunk said model down somewhere. Said model must now stay in that place
during the rest of the exercise - i.e., if standing somewhere to start
with, may turn, sit, lean right, lean left, lean back - but must
essentially STAY in the same place.

Load a 36 exposure roll of film in camera; pick a single focal-length
lens.

Pick a spot from which to shoot.

Shoot the entire roll without moving from that spot. You may sit,
crouch, stand, lean left or right, forward or back, stretch out...but
your feet may not get any closer to, or further from, your subject.

The idea of the exercise is to learn to "work" a situation...consider
how to frame it as many ways as you can, in spite of the constraint of
not being able to change lenses, or move in relation to your subject.

Good luck - it's a LOT tougher than it sounds. :-)

I'd like to put together a number of exercises to help the learning
photographer (is there any other kind?) to develop their skills. Not
necessarily the traditional kind of exercises. I'm doing this partly
as an exercise in photography, partly as an exercise in Internet-based
presentations.

Do you know of any exercises that help develop a photographers eye?
They would need to be relatively focussed ideas: "shoot pictures and
compare to others" doesn't quite cut the mustard.
