About as you'd expect. What would you expect? Well, you'd expect a 30
year older Leica lens to perform well, but not quite as good as a late
90's lens. Unless the T-E is a dog, and the ASPH a "stunnah", the
difference will probably not make you choke on your grande latte.

For "typical" Leica rangefinder photography (i.e., Tri-X, available
light, handheld) it's probably a moot point in enlargements up to
11x14, unless the extra aperture stop comes into play. If you bolt the
thing onto a 400lb stand, shoot perfectly exposed ISO 50 film in a
studio at f/8, and blow it up to 16x20 or larger, then yes, I'm sure
you'd be able to see the difference, depending upon subject matter.
Does it perform three times better (given the price difference)?
Probably not.

That's about what you'd expect, right?
