Subject: RE: [Leica] Do I need a 'slim' filter for a 24mm elmarit?

I, too, fell pray early in my photographic life to the protection UV scam.

It makes me sick to think about the bayonet 60mm B+W and Hasselblad filters
I wasted my money on over the years. After all, if you have a Zeiss or
Leica lens, you have to have a $200 filter on it right? I could have bought
a couple replacement lenses for what those damn things cost.

Anyway, all my lenses are naked now. The thing I noticed is that I was
INCREDIBLY careful of my expensive UV filters, and I NEVER got a scratch on
them. So what's the POINT???

Anyway, just thought I'd side with Ted. lol

Randy

Ok ok ..
So maybe I will go naked with this lens (the lens, not me).
Anybody care to insure me?
There's an idea! A LUG 'scratch' insurance policy!

with tongue-in-cheek and, as always, amused by the LUGgite passion expresed
on this forum,
