I live in the Boston area also...layers are the only way to go.  EMS on Comm
Ave can help if you want special clothing; however, I find a long silk
undershirt for really cold or long periods out in the cold with everyday
stuff, shirt, wool sweater, jacket will make it.  A hat, scarf(muffler)
gloves plus good shoes and long wool socks keep me toasty.  Don't forget to
put on an outer shell if it is raining or snowing.

Papa Steven's weekly advise to the yungings.  OH  Yes big enough pockets to
hold either the Leica or its film and lenses back OT.
