Mozart: 27th January 1756 -- 5 December 1791

Beethoven: 6 December 1770 (or thereabouts) -- 26 March 1827

Brahms: 7 May 1833 -- 3 April 1897

Presumably the closer proximity, and the fact that Beethoven like 
Brahms was German, made his presence felt more than Mozart.
