This discussion has brought out some of the best and most expressive essays I
have read on the LUG. Ellis, Nathan and Per have written from their hearts
but with such eloquence, clarity and depth that one can't help but applaud.

Ellis, the PAW is not a commercial endeavor on the part of the person posting
his/her pictures, but a way of presenting to our more knowledgeable
colleagues our path towards improvement. Therefore, "intensity with respect
to review and comment on PAWs" would be an overkill. Gentle nudges and words
of encouragement would be more productive and pointing out what one did right
instead of telling him what he did wrong would be more helpful to the poster.
Often enough, we ourselves are our own harshest critics anyway, which
explains why you or I as well as many others have not posted any PAW
ourselves.

Also, everybody has set different standards for themselves as regards when to
post. Some would go ahead and say, "Well, here's me with my best efforts as
a fledgling photog," while others would say to themselves, "I guess I'll wait
till I reach a certain level before I share anything with the LUG." With
that in mind, a criticism with an intensity level more passionate than
"attaboy" would be inappropriate.
