It covers a much wider angle than can be polarized. In effect, you will get a section that looks good and a whole lot that doesn't. As to trying it anyway, try getting a 6" piece of polarizing material from Edmund Scientific and use it as if it were a gel. I have used both a theatrical gel holder as well as a seamstress's hoop for this. The real trick is to find a time of day and an angle to the sun that provides natural saturation, believe me I know how hard that can be, especially if your family really doesn't want you traveling at 7:25AM on the morning of February 6th because the angle of the sun will perfectly line up with the hopefully in bloom flowers.
