This is a private communication Rob, because I do not care to get into a
public pissing match with you, nor, for that matter, to I want this to be a
pissing match of any kind.

But let me ask you two questions:

1. Do you really think that Erwin Puts GAVE Leica that PDF to publish? That
he did not receive any kind of compensation for allowing a corporation to
benefit from all that work?

2. Suppose I published my photo work on diabetics, and didn't acknowledge
the fact that it was commissioned and paid for by a drug company? Wouldn't
that be gross conflict of interest, and ethical violation? Of course it
would, because people judging the work would have no way to know if it
presented an honest picture of the lives of diabetics, or produced a picture
the pharmaceutical company wanted shown.

Well, when Erwin Puts claims to be an independent expert when he reviews
Leica products, but does work of any kind for Leica, he is misleading the
people who make buying decisions on the basis of what they believe to be
independent evaluations. I know that you understand that.

By the way - how about we try to keep our political disagreements out of our
on-list exchanges. Because you and I know full-well that your repeated
disagreements with me on-list began AFTER you learned during our off-list
exchange that we disagree about the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.

B. D.

As far as I can see, he isn't taking anything from Leica, he's given them
the pdf to publish. Good for him. Where's the problem?

This really is one of your idées fixes, BD.
