Years ago I started with one "old used" camera, with a 50mm lens. I loved candid available light shoots, and then I bought a "better," camera and a flash. Trouble, now my pictures all "came out" but they were not interesting. Without realizing it, I had changed my style of phorography. Then I bought more lenses, and wasted more time changing them rather than just gettiing back to basic techniques and improving my style. So, my advice is to just go out with a minimum of equipment and if you are doing color, maybe try B & W, or slides. And now its 35 years later and I'm still learning.
