With respect to the the R9 information at http://www.leicapages.com/

* The analogue film counter has disappeared and is replaced by a digital 
one with LCD panel on the camera top.

What analogue film counter? The film counter on the R8 is digital and is on 
the rear panel. It is also in the viewfinder, of course.

* The backside LCD panel has been altered: it now has backlighting and 
displays camera settings such as ISO value, battery condition, EV 
corrections, and light metering indications.

Hooray for the backlighting I guess, but on the R8 the back LCD panel 
already displays this very stuff.
