[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I always make very sure that the sprokets on the film have engaged with the cogs on the film advance - sometimes this involves pushing the film down a little (I'm aware that the 'hat' on the base is meant to do this but I use a rapidwinder that doesn't have one). I then advance half a frame to make sure that the cogs have 'taken' the sprockets, then put the base on. Then turn the rewind lever to take up any slack in the film canister. I can then watch the rewind lever turn as I advance to frame 1. To be honest that description sounds more complex than it really is. I've found that the most important part is to make sure that the cogs have engaged.
