And mull over the fact that Ted has "left the building." Ted may have his
idiosyncrasies, many of which have to do with a generation gap, and others
of which have to do with his not being an Amurkin, but there is no one who
over the years has provided more useful information about photography using
Leicas than Ted; no one who has offered more thoughtful, constructive,
helpful criticism of our photography; no one who as done more to try to keep
this runaway 18-wheeler, with its driver high on speed and booze, on the
road.

Yes, Ted is often politically incorrect, and sometimes downright offensive
to some. But I, for one, think his positive contributions to this list far,
far outweigh his
"sins," and hope that he returns and returns soon. Driving him out, as some
have just done, is a bit like throwing out of your house your grandfather,
who put you through college and has always been there for you, because you
thought his humor was offensive.

Hey you guys -- I saw nothing in Ted's message that identified his slaves as
members
of any historically visible or identifiable minority . I suspect the slaves
he was
referring to are those who are slaves to their own maniacal stupidity -- of
whom we
have witnessed much these past couple of days here. Some of you folks need
to get
some serious medication, damn the cost.
