Dan -

I like the way the Leica looks better, but I like the way the Panasonic 
feels better.  Otherwise, even though both camera makers insist they are 
different cameras, they seem identical to me.  The controls are very 
slightly different but I can tell no difference in the results.  The 
Panasonic is cheaper but it comes with a smaller, cheaper SD card and 
different software.  The Leica comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements 
(normally $99) and ACDSee - a very good filing system (normally $45).  So 
the price is not as different as it seems.  If you don't already have 
Photoshop, then the Leica would definitely be the better buy.
