Subject: RE: [Leica] Banner headline 'Wetzlar Gives Birth to Medium Format Camera'

I have now clarified this rumour by telephoning the Editor of said magazine
who refered me to an article on page 5 concerning a new camera called 'Wica'
which is a 'new specialist medium format camera featuring a unique orbital
shift lens'. The camera takes Schneider wide angle lenses. The camera is
made in Wetzlar (hence the headline) and will be at Photokina but has no
connection with Leica (as far as is known). More details will be on the
company website in September at www.wica-weltzlar.de.

Hope that calms any excitement!

This weeks British Journal of Photography bears the banner headline 'Wetzlar
Gives Birth to Medium Format Camera' across the front cover but there is
nothing inside the magazine. Looks like it is a definite though!
