The model 1 is better, but practically there is little value in being
able to check the edges of the field. It is not as easy to do as the
center, and if your enlarger is against a wall it takes almost
contortionist skills to see the two rear corners.

Much, much better is spend the $169 or so to get a Versalab Parallel. It
takes just minutes to get the alignment as perfect as you would ever
need it.

Then check the focus in the center of the negative.
