Google does this because it cannot find any pages, anywhere, matching "gatsgarden". Neither can Alta Vista, Lycos, FAST (alltheweb.com), or Excite. Perhaps it should just give you nothing instead of giving you "garysgarden", but it is certainly not pulling a trick on you. If you try a search that matches anything at all, it will give you the results of the search that you asked for and possibly suggest alternate spellings.
