Bill, thanks for pushing the shutter button.  Your submission

has promise.  I think it would have been more effective had it been a
vertical shot with much more of the books showing in the stacks. This would
have brought attention to where this couple was and made other statements
depending on lens choice, timing, and film stock.

Lens choice, more telephoto compresses the couple into the books, more wide
angle brings distance between the couple and the books.

Timing, are they reading, cuddling, intertwined, or facing away from each
other?

Film stock, color versus B&W, fine grain vs grainy.  Color could make an
interesting statement if the couple was in colorful clothing and the books
were a uniform gray/green or brown.  The inverse would also be interesting
gray people and colorful books..
