It is one of (if not THE) best corrected lens in the R line. I have the Modular lenses as well (I shoot wildlife), but the 280 has the snap, color and flatness of field that just blows you away! If need be add the 1.4 APO converter. Quality does not skip a beat ... it's that good. I also have to say that I think all the other suggestions are great as well, though! Looks as if you can't go wrong.. EC both MAC and PC user - Maybe I'll get a Sun Workstation to round it out ;-) > From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us (Leica Users digest) > Reply-To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > Date: Sat, 15 Jun 2002 11:31:39 -0700 (PDT) > To: leica-users-digest@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > Subject: Leica Users digest V22 #310 > > Date: Fri, 14 Jun 2002 17:23:10 -0700 > From: Peter Natscher <peter@natscher.com> > Subject: [Leica] Next Logical Telephoto Lens After 180mm > Message-ID: <3D0A88ED.AA0857A@natscher.com> > References: > > After using my Leica 180mm f/2.8 APO telephoto lens with landscape > photography, I'm finding a desire to go deeper into the scenery after > viewing many of my slides.
