A large number of my images will be on display beginning Friday at the Moscone Center, in SF, in a "gallery" set up by Novo Nordisk, the Danish insulin producer. There will be prints and a digital slide show - and free post cards of three of the photos. The gallery will be on the main exhibit floor - surrounded by all the drug booths - of the American Diabetes Association annual scientific meeting. If anyone is interested in getting in without hassles, or meeting for coffee or whatever, I'll be reachable by cell phone. Just Email me off-list and I'll get in touch. - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Tim Atherton Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2002 7:48 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: RE: [Leica] Photoshop problem with Genuine Fractals > > How much of a benefit is GF? I'm frequently printing with quadtone inks on 13x19 paper - scanned on an FS2710 and upsized in GF - does a great job (so to Johnny Deadman/Brownlows sharpening filters - depending on the image, they can really zing em!). I've also scanned 4x5 on my Epson 1640, upsized with GF to 36" and had lightjet printed. It came out about 99% as good as a traditional print of the same image, same size - but I had much more control over colour correction and highlight detail (it was print film). As the scanner ain't exactly top of the line, I was impressed. At the NWT Archives, we have upsized images from the archives to some quite large sizes - it has done a darn good job. tim - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
