The main picture is from a field trip I went to with my son to the Tech Museum in San Jose. The group of kids were understandably excited, and the first thing they found on entering the lower level exhibit was a big rock. To most adults, the rock is not part of the fun, just an object to bypass on the way to the fun, but the kids swarmed it like bees. And they stayed there for minutes, as if the trip was already sucessful. I snapped a series of the kind in various states of ascension and descension and this frame stuck with me. The alternate pictures were taken at a recent scout camp out. Long story short: the leader of the troop thought it would be a great "motivator" to bring along some paint ball guns (uh, yeah that was my reaction, but that is another story). Being one who believes there are better ways to learn of the outdoors, I occupied myself alternately making fun of the idea and shooting pictures as the event unfolded. I kept thinking "look at me, I'm a cheesy Robert Capa wannabe" as the semi-hard balls of dye impacted around me. Close as I'm ever going to get. I found Alt 1 especially humorous as the boys tried to figure it all out... http://home.earthlink.net/~heninger/paw/ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . w a d e h e n i n g e r | p h o t o g r a p h y http://home.earthlink.net/~heninger/photography.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
