I make my first post in months, go to work, come home, open the digest and find I have started a war. Sorry I just used the local name for the festival. Since I was really aiming the note at other DC area Luggers I didn't occur to me to explain further. It's probably called officially by some all-inclusive politically correct mouthful, but "Pride day" is what we call it. Still, I should have known better. I was once interviewed by the Washington Post because I was involved in a rally in undergrad. The reporter asked me what student club I was president of, and I told him "Georgetown Pride." To my amazement, the guy then asked me what kind of a club that was. So I guess the gay community is a bit under the radar screen for even worldly Washington Post reporters, let alone the LUG. I will try to be more specific in future. Simon Stevens P.S. I personally think the figure is around 4-7% of the general population, and we are EVERYWHERE. Even on the LUG. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
