Great advice for all the M cameras if you have to load in a dark place.
A long leader never hangs up on the film gate.

John,

I am a longtime Leica M user and I love the cameras. However, I have
had a lot of problems with film loading with one of my newer M6s.

Now with all of my M cameras (they all look the same in the dark,
which is where I use them...theaters), I put the cassette in first,
guide the film across the sprockets and advance the film I frame
before closing the gate and putting the base plate on. I can do this
very quickly, and I need to because dancers and musicians don't wait
for me to be "ready" with the new roll of film.
