[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Graham, This one http://www.geebeephoto.com/html/sywell_04.html is much more appealing as are the horizontals. Suggestions to try in similar situations would be a somewhat longer lens tilted down to provide more foreground blue(you will be moving the horizon line north of the rule of thirds). Also, in similar situations try to time your shots for earlier in the morning or later at night to capture the warmer, softer light. If color does not make the image, form and texture are what the shot is about) then switching to B&W will extend the shooting day. The second postings are good landscapes, I'm just suggesting experiments to try while waiting for strangers in your other project. The trick to finding your style is to experiment a lot, repeat what mostly works with variations to refine, and discard those techniques that just don't appeal. Last, if you like something, stick with it. It's your artistic expression. Thank you for the second posting, it clearly shows a good eye. Now go back with that bottle of wine/ale and enjoy yourself.
