Ok Derek,

If you get a flash bracket that lets you reach the "open-close" baseplate
release, then you can leave the bottom of the camera on the bracket while
you reload.  Just a bit awkward to rewind with a flach bracket attached. And
maybe you can try this with a leica handgrip and then put it on the bracket.
