Subject: [Leica] Bulk loaded films and R8

Is there any difference in loading film into a plastic vs metal canister? I
am thinking specifically of the foam seals on the R8. In my old Rollei w/o
a window it never seemed to matter. I put a roll in a plastic canister in
my R8 and the foam seal really seemed like it pressed on the felt trap a
lot more. The film seemed harder to wind, or perhaps it was just that
canister. It took more pressure to close the back, too. I don't want to
damage the foam seal by compressing it too much for too long a time. It
might not seal well on a metal canister after that.

Any words of wisdom???

Thanks

Aram
