Eric -

The point is that you are free to experiment.  You can try anything and it 
costs you nothing.  If you don't like the results, you erase the card and 
start over.  You can try very slow speeds, macros that you wouldn't have 
considered before, bracketing for focus and exposure - anything you can 
think of - and there is no cost.  Every exposure does not have to be worthy 
of film cost, developing cost, mounting cost, filing cost, etc.  Imagine 
having a roll of film that you can erase and use over and over 
again.  Wonderful!
