To me at least, helping a group of elementary >> kids who are unable to help themselves is a lot more worthy charity for the >> LUG. no reason we can't do that too, there are more than a thousand people on this list. i know i have a closet full of stuff that i don't use that i'd be more than happy to send to coventry KY for a photo program. my feeling is we could go about this two ways: 1) wet darkroom and chemical photography -- i have developing equipment that could certianly go, and i'm sure other people do too, i could probably also scrounge up some nikon lenses that i dont use, i know i have a spare sekonic meter, and again, i'm sure other people will do. 2) though we might be best off setting them up digital, the expense might end up being less. i know i have a pentium 100 i'd be happy to part with and for $300 we can come up with a nice digital camera -- OR we could send them 10 Jamcam's -- the advantages of this i think are that there's no expensive film to muck around with. IN ANY EVENT, whichever you decide, if steven is willing to spearhead this, i'm on board for the Covington KY thing too, and I've recieved an email from at least one other lugger who would as well. take a look through your closets -- let's make it happen! kc - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
