I have used the collapsible alongside a brand new Summicron and I only find one major difference except from the slightly softer rendition - the collapsible produces a warmer tone in the pictures! It's only obvious when you shot with both lenses on the same roll of film - but then it's very evident. It's almost the same effect I experienced with an old Summicron 90. I don't know the reason, maybe due to the old coating or because of the glass used. Can someone out there offer a good explanation? /Johan Ericson - ----------------------------- Private E-Mail: johan.ericson@communitymma.se - -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Fran: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]For Edward Caliguri Skickat: den 24 april 2002 15:17 Till: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Amne: [Leica] Info on 50 F/2.0 collapsible - -Hi! I have been given to 'evaluate' for a friend an older IIIg screw mount with a collapsible 50/f2.0 Leitz Sumicron lens (I assume it was the last before the rigid was made)---- I don't know much (anything really!) about the Leica screw mount lenses, however. Does anyone know about this lens, and where I can find some information on it? It's in great shape with an original hood and all - almost perfect! I'm going to try it on my M6 with an adapter just to see what it can do! Thanks very much!
