Well BD, while never met you personally, but through
the internet you come across as one with the most
abrasive personality. My usuage of the wordings
"technically awesome" is a compliment to Kyle for
being able to capture the warmth and softness with all
the details in creating this picture. If you cannot
see the challenges that Kyle have to overcome in
getting this picture, or if you think any good
photographic equipment can do it, sans the skill of
the person behind the camera, then I challenge you to
show us a similar picture created by you. 
I like this picture and commented on its excellence,
but it seems to me that you always have the last say.
Please show us what you've got for a change.
