Subject: [Leica] Film usage on a project

Wolf, the nature photographer, caused quite a stir when he reported shooting
10 rolls in under five minutes. When he explained why most can understand a
lot of film going through the camera.

Basically, after hiking most of a day to stake out a spot where the light
will be good for a few minutes at best you don't want to come back the next
day. So, camera on a tripod, 70-200 zoom mounted with split neutral density
set for the horizon break, camera set for three frame bracket at 1/3 stop.
Camera is set for highest framing rate which for him would be 8 frames a
second. When the light is just about right start shooting 12 "sets" per
roll. Using the zoom and horizontal and vertical compositions that is only
120 compositions which may not be all that many in a truly scenic place.

Why the narrow bracket? You can sell rights to a unique image and still
have a very, very similar one for other uses.
