Huh? I bought a refurbished Canon film scanner for $149 from B&H. 2700dpi - not the best, but good enough for 8x10s, thus far. For $1500, you can get the 4000dpi Nikon 35mm scanner, or $3k gets you a used drum scanner or Nikon's 4000dpi MF scanner. An Epson 1280 runs $450ish, and I haven't priced all the ink systems yet. That's up to 13" wide and 44" long, IIRC. And a G4/933 w/ 512MB of memory runs $2200ish, and I assume most people have a monitor That's a pretty decent digital darkroom setup for less than $3k. And the Mac can, of course, be used for much more. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
