Felix, the last version (s/n 2340953+) is the best version. It mounts directly on the viso III without adapters. I'll leave it to other to discuss whether a viso makes sense (opinions vary!) but as to the lens... I've used 2 samples, the first with the standard focussing helix and the 2nd with the Televit rapid-focus grip. If you are looking for apochromatic image quality, get an APO-Telyt-R and your camera body of choice... but the 280 Telyt-V is quite good. I've been very pleased with the image quality at full aperture. The first sample flared badly if it caught a whif of sunlight on the front element, but the 2nd one hardly flares at all. I have no idea why there is so much difference. I like this lens much better with the Televit vs. the standard focussing helix. The standard helix is typical of Leitz Canada construction: very solid and precise, but it doesn't focus close enough for my purposes.
